Crop Services Scotland are an NSTS approved testing centre for all types of pesticide application equipment. At our premises you can have your machine tested and repaired to ensure all its certificates are up-to-date and within the regulations.
NSTS requirements have been put in place to help ensure safe and accurate application of pesticides and must be adhered to.

Expert Advice and a Huge Range of Crop Sprayer Nozzles
Crop Services Scotland stock a large range of nozzles from the industries leading manufacturers at our Kelso depot.
Spray nozzles are the smallest and most overlooked piece of equipment on the crop sprayer, but they can have an enormous impact on the accuracy, efficacy, and drift potential of each application.

Sprayer Testing Guidelines
The Sustainable Use Directive (SUD) requires all pesticide application equipment to be tested by the relevant dates.
1.) Boom Sprayers over 3 metres and air blast sprayers
• First test due before the sprayer is 5 years old
• Re-test every 3 years
2.) Booms 3 metres and under, slug pellet and micro-granular applicators, weed wipers, seed treatment and other specialist equipment
• First test due before the machine is 5 years old
• Re-test every 6 years
3.) Knapsack, handheld and pedestrian equipment
• Must be checked on a regular basis by a competent person
• Make any repairs necessary
• Keep a record of the inspection – a knapsack checklist

4.) Crops, Fresh Produce and SQC Assurance Scheme requirements
• Annual testing for sprayers over 3 metres and air blast sprayers
• Annual testing of granular nematicide applicators
• All other equipment to SUD timescales
